The Ukrainian Navy does not need the missile cruiser Ukraine, said the Ministry of defence.
The naval forces of Ukraine do not need a rocket cruiser “Ukraine”. About this Ministry of defence announced the state concern Ukroboronprom in an official letter. The defense Ministry confirmed that to finish the cruiser for the Mat is impractical, the press service of the Ukroboronprom.
“This decision, the Ministry actually removed a question on the importance of keeping the cruiser at GP the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant”, – is told in the message.
The Parties stressed that the Cabinet must make the final decision: need Ukraine missile cruiser “Ukraine” or not. If you need Ukroboronprom is ready to finish the ship, but it is necessary to provide funds to the state defense order for 2018 If not – you have two options: either to sell the unfinished, because he does not meet the military doctrine, or to provide funds for the future maintenance of the ship in the berth. The concern is ready to consider other solutions to this problem proposed by the Cabinet.
From February 2015, the state has ceased to offset the cost of GP the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant on the contents of the rocket cruiser “Ukraine”. In the result, the state debt to the plant and its employees reached 61.1 million UAH. The payment of these funds would be enough to repay all debts on wages and the resumption of the enterprise.
The missile cruiser “Ukraine” was launched 27 years ago. For many years its construction was frozen at the stage of readiness of 95%. Nikolaev shipbuilding plant for three years independently performs work in the maintenance of the cruiser, because their termination would lead to the destruction of its energy components, items of equipment, pollution of the waters of the rivers bug and Ingul. Also the destruction of the cost of the cruiser will fall to the cost of scrap.
Ukroboronprom prepared and sent to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft for the settlement of issues related to demilitarization and subsequent use of the cruiser. The project provides for compensation of enterprise the cost of the maintenance of the cruiser and repayment of wage arrears.
August 22, 2017, the concern is already addressed in the Cabinet with a request to solve the issue and take on record the Ministry of defense of Ukraine unfinished missile cruiser of project 1164.
