The CPS told about the new “disease” that will kill 30 million people on the planet

Management of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg told how to correctly take antibiotics. The Ministry said that these drugs should be treated with caution. When irrational use produces antibiotic resistance — antibiotic resistance that may result in terrible consequences for all mankind.

The Department noted that the resistance of bacteria to antibiotics is a natural phenomenon, but the misuse of drugs accelerates this process significantly. In addition, such diseases, such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, gonorrhoea and salmonellosis, it becomes more difficult to treat these resistant “super bacteria”. This in turn leads to higher mortality.

The CPS also spoke of the dangers of antibiotic resistance on a global scale.

“In our time each epidemic may become a pandemic, the borders between countries do not restrain the infection, they quickly spread around the world. Scientists project that if the problem of irrational use of antibiotics will not be solved within the next 10-15 years is expected emergence of infectious diseases that can lead to the death of at least 30 million people. If the situation does not change, we begin to approach the post-antibiotic era, when common infections and minor injuries can once again become fatal, as they were before the discovery of antibiotics,” warned in the CPS.

Experts told how to avoid negative consequences. In order to prevent development of resistance to antibiotics in the first place you should take them only as directed by your doctor and strictly to implement the recommendations of physicians. Also, do not share your antibiotics with other people to prevent unnecessary use of the drug. The Ministry also reminded that antibiotics are powerless against viruses like the flu and SARS.
