The court reversed the recovery from Gazprom $3 million in favor of Ukraine

More than $ 3 million had to go to repay fines and penalties of Gazprom in the total amount of 172 billion.

Kyiv economic court of appeal overturned the lower court decision on recovery 79,877 million hryvnia (more than $ 3 million – ed.), dividends from the company Gaztranzit under the compulsory penalty Gazprom penalty of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

“Given that the deadline for the payment of dividends on the date of adoption of the contested decision of the Economic court of Kiev from June 6, has occurred, the panel of judges came to the conclusion that the grant of the application to foreclose on dividends from the net profit of PJSC Gaztranzit violates the rights of shareholders of Gaztranzit, because these funds at the time of foreclosure belong to the Gaztranzit, but not of PJSC Gazprom”, – stated in the decision of the court.

We will remind, Naftogaz and Gazprom owns 40.2% of the shares of Gaztranzit, yet 19.6% of the shares of the Turkish company Turusgas. The company was established in 1997 to increase the volume of transit of Russian natural gas to Turkey and Balkan countries.

When it was announced that Gazprom terminates the agreement with Gaztranzit. The agreement was to cease to operate from 1 July.
