The court declared a break in consideration of the case, in which deposed President Viktor Yanukovych is accused of treason. The next session begins on August 3 at 10.00 am, decided to Obolon district court of Kiev.
Today’s court session lasted only a few minutes. After the start, the newly-appointed lawyer of ex-President Vitaly Machacek asked to give him time to familiarize himself with the case materials. The court granted the application.
Earlier, Yanukovych said that will no longer participate in the trial in the case of treason and withdraws his defenders. He suggests that the decision of the Obolon court predetermined his sentence to life imprisonment.
In response, the Regional center for providing free secondary legal aid in Kiev has appointed to protect Yanukovych’s lawyer Vitaly Masachika.
