The Pechersky district court of Kiev chose ex-to the Minister of justice of Ukraine Oleksandr Lavrynovych, the measure of restraint in form of detention for a period of 60 days.
The relevant court decision passed on Friday, September 15.
Thus, the court satisfied the petition of Prosecutor’s office, which asked for the arrest of a suspect without any alternatives that provided him sane articles about the participation in the seizure of state power in 2010.
On 6 September the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko declared that ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and ex-Minister of justice Lavrynovych reported about suspicion in the seizure of power in Ukraine through constitutional coup in 2010.
In particular, Lavrynovych is suspected of organizing illegal, without a decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
In 2010 the constitutional court of Ukraine returned the country to a presidential-parliamentary form of government, returning to the President the part of lost in 2004, powers.
