England died the couple, who have lived together for 77 years. The husband and wife have raised five children, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 97-year-old Joyce and 96-year-old Frank Dodd died in the hospital one day, holding hands.
They met when they were 14 years old. Joyce worked as a waitress, and Frank at the sawmill. Five years later they were married. They lived together for almost eight decades.
Recently, Frank was diagnosed with acute heart failure. Despite his advanced age, Joyce alone cared for him for months. But Frank still put in the hospital. Joyce visited him every day until then, until she got sick and ended up in the same hospital.
Originally they were on different floors, but in the last days of life the doctors decided to combine a couple of nurses moved the bed Joyce was in the house for Frank. When they died, they were lying next to each other and holding hands.
