American congressmen called on President Donald trump in the framework of the Magnitsky act to impose targeted sanctions against perpetrators of human rights violations during the dispersal of protests in Moscow. The statement was signed by the head of the house of representatives Committee on foreign Affairs, Democrat Eliot Engel and Republican Michael mccaul.
As stated in the appeal, in Russia held a peaceful Assembly in support of fair elections and democratic reforms, but the protesters were beaten, arrested and even sentenced to imprisonment.
Engel and McCall also appealed to Russian authorities demanding to stop violence against peaceful protesters.
