To far to travel to the Maldives, the Chinese decided to create their own. A deserted island in the South China sea turned into a Paradise. Environmentally friendly as well.
Over five years on a deserted sandy Islands built, the city of Sanshui. Because of the constant heat, high humidity, lack of drinking water and poor soils to grow there was something impossible. One of the leaders of the project, recalls how he first came here in early 90s. Then the rain water was worth its weight in gold, and ships with food supplies arrived, except that for the New year.
It took the province, which owns the Islands, has delivered the soil, planted the trees. Even installed the equipment for desalination of sea water.
Now the territory is buried in verdure, and the local residents use of environmental technologies.
