The championship of Russia on football will resume on 21 or 28 June

Russian Premier League clubs have proposed two dates for the resumption of the championship, which was suspended due to a pandemic coronavirus.

“RPL is offered to clubs two versions of the calendar, which is based on the recommendations of UEFA, to complete the Championships on 2 August. One is scheduled to start June 21. The first two rounds planned in a weekly cycle, in order to smooth the load on the players. Then five rounds will be matches in the middle of the week, and the last – again in the weekly cycle,” – said in a statement the League, the text of which is reproduced on its website.

“Another option is to resume June 28 with a weekly cycle at the beginning and the remaining seven rounds of matches in the middle of the week. Both options are laid out including the possible plays of the Cup of Russia, which will host the RFU,” – noted there.

It is noted that RPL and the Russian football Union examined the various restrictions of the authorities and based on them will form the guidelines for the preparation of players. They will affect the specifics of the individual training mode of quarantine and isolation, medical testing of players. The document would spell out the conditions under which it is possible to start with group lessons and then move on to full team training on the bases of the clubs.

RPL and RFU plan to develop these recommendations in conjunction with the CPS. The proposals will be relevant provided that the power will weaken or completely abolish the decrees, which now constrain team training.

Meanwhile, RPL announced the development of the rules for possible matches without spectators.

Russian Premier League has begun to develop regulations to host matches without spectators, in case the championship will resume after a pause due to pandemic coronavirus, and restrictions on mass gatherings will be saved

“RPL is working on a draft schedule of matches without spectators in the event of continued restrictions on holding mass events. It will describe all important aspects of the organization of the championship in terms of existing restrictions on holding mass events. Including admission to the territory and the bowl of the stadium the participants of the matches, employees of clubs, the host broadcaster,” reads the statement of the League.
