In Berlin, on Monday, March 13 opened a centre for the deportation of migrants who have not received refugee status in Germany.
The institution will coordinate the actions of the Federal authorities and the länder for the voluntary return of migrants or their forced deportation.
In particular, the center will be engaged in identification of migrants and the preparation of documents necessary for their departure. Another priority of the center will be a “special individual cases” when it comes to deportation of migrants who repeatedly commits a criminal offence in Germany or convicted of extremist activities.
The center will be occupied by employees of the Federal office for migration and refugees (BAMF), the Federal police and representatives from each of the 16 Federal States. According to the Minister of internal Affairs of Germany Thomas de maizière, in may this year, the center will be fully staffed by specialists and will work in full force.
On the establishment of that institution, the Ministers of interior of the Federation and the länder agreed at a meeting in early February, 2017.
Recall that Germany began to implement the program of repatriation of refugees. To implement the first phase of the program required 100 million euros.
