The regulator considers that in Ukraine there is reason for increase in electricity tariffs.
The national Commission carrying out regulation in the sphere of energy and coal industry of Ukraine (NKREKU) received the forecast balance of electricity in 2018, which was approved by the Ministry of energy. According to him, in Ukraine there are preconditions for the increase in electricity tariffs.
This was announced by the head of Department Dmitry Vovk on his Facebook page.
According to the presentations, according to the Ministry, envisages reducing the share of nuclear power in electricity production in 2018, in comparison with the current year, 54.2 per cent to 52.7%, hydro power, from 5.3% to 5%. The share of thermal power plants, on the contrary, is expected to grow from 30.2% to 31.2%, CHP and cogeneration units – from 7.2% to 7.6%.
According to the calculations Department, the PSP will increase its share from 1% to 1.1%, and alternative sources – from 1.2% to 1.3%.
In the Ministry expect that total electricity generation in 2018 will increase by 1.2% (1.9 bn kWh).
According to forecasts of the national Commission, in addition to the growth in the share of more expensive electricity produced by TPPs, the overall balance, the increase in tariffs will also lead to inflation, the devaluation of the hryvnia, the dividend policy of state-owned companies wage growth.
