23-year-old student Thomas Lacking found in a cemetery in the British village of Winfarthing, Norfolk, gold ornaments worth about 195 thousand dollars. The young man conducted excavations at the site of the old castle, when suddenly his metal detector buzzed.
Lacking found the jewels next to an old cemetery back in 2015, but decided to tell journalists about it only recently when I learned the true value of the findings.
The student said that it all happened surprisingly ordinary – the metal detector went off, and the young man began to dig.
“My friend and I realized that I had stumbled onto something big, but didn’t understand what it is,” said Lackling.
The most valuable find of the Briton and his partner was a large Golden pendant that was buried with the remains of a woman. They belonged to the 650-675-th years BC. Apparently, the deceased was one of the first Anglo-Saxon Christians.

Find of Lacking already interested in local history Museum. The young man said he plans to sell the jewelry, and the money to invest in real estate. The amount that the historian will come to the rescue for the discovery, he will have to share with a friend and the owner of the land where the treasure was found.
