The Ukrainian foreign Ministry summoned the Belarusian Ambassador over the detention of Zhadan in Minsk.
The Ambassador of Belarus in Ukraine Igor Sokol in connection with the detention in Minsk of the Belarusian competent authorities of the Ukrainian writer Serhiy Zhadan was summoned to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
It is reported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“Head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission expressed deep concern about the situation with the detention and prohibition of entry Zhadan, attention is drawn to the consistency of such actions of the Belarusian law enforcement authorities against citizens of Ukraine.
The representative of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine noted that the explanations of the Belarusian side received as of today “do not satisfy the Ukrainian side.”
It is also reported that soon will be held a telephone conversation of heads of foreign policy departments of Ukraine and Belarus.
