Kyiv city state administration intends to raise the price for journey in a municipal transportation for 1 UAH in metro to 5 hryvnia, land transport up to 4 UAH from 15 July in connection with the increase in electricity prices and an increase in the minimum wage.
This was announced by Deputy head of Kyiv city state administration Mykola Povoroznyk.
“Today we begin a public discussion of raising fares in the communal transport. We are talking about raising rates in the metro for up to 5 UAH, and in bus, tram, trolley bus and funicular up to 4 UAH. Raising rates will provide an opportunity to cover electricity costs that rose 5 times, and salaries of employees,” he said.
Earlier, the Kyiv city state administration said that the increase of fare in public transport can not take place until the public hearing.
