Since the beginning of the year the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held two telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
These talks were coordinated with the partners of Ukraine in “Norman format” with Germany and France, said the Deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine Konstantin Eliseev.
Poroshenko talks with Putin had focused on the two issues: the deterioration of the situation which occurred in a combat zone in the area of Avdeevka and progress in the liberation of hostages in the Donbas, as well as the transfer to Ukraine of political prisoners held in Russian prisons.
“Then was the peak of the crisis in the town, and a phone call was associated with the order to cease fire and allow to restore vital infrastructure in the area,” said Elisha.
According to him, negotiations on the issue of political prisoners continues. The official declined to specify the details of the negotiations and the names of the prisoners, which was discussed. Such negotiations “love peace,” said Elisha.
