An armed group of “Hayat Tahrir al-sham”, which is associated with “al-Qaeda” on Sunday, July 23, took control of the city of Idlib.
This was reported by the Syrian Observatory for human rights, reports Deutsche Welle. Before that, the city was left by fighters of the Islamist group “Ahrar al-sham”.
The militants, “Hayat Tahrir al-sham” took control of administrative buildings in Idlib and checkpoints at the entrance to the city.
According to the news Agency dpa, the fighters of “Ahrar al-sham” left Idlib in agreement with the members of the “Hyatt Tahrir al-sham”. Recall, Idlib is a city in the North of Syria, which is many times passed under the control of different armed groups.
