The actor can start its own crypto currency

The project will be called TON.

Pavel Durov plans to launch a cryptocurrency to support his messenger.

The project will be called TON (Telegram Open Network), said in his blog, Anton Rosenberg, a former employee of Vkontakte and Telegram.

“The idea was to issue its own cryptocurrency to incorporate it in messenger and immediately announce the largest number of users of the system trying thus to displace the Etherium,” writes Rosenberg, with reference to information of participants of the cryptocurrency market.

According to Rosenberg, “we already have a beautiful promotional video in the style of “Star wars”, but without any specifics”.

Interestingly, in the Telegram a significant part of the audience is Iran and Uzbekistan. In Iran because of the sanctions does not work any international payment system in Uzbekistan of currency reform had just begun.

“The main question – how are the authorities in these countries to try Telegram to replace their domestic currency, the reais and Sumy, on my own, beyond the control of States? Not if they decide that it is easier to block the messenger? In General, as they say, will see,” added Rosenberg.
