Tennis in Ukrainian, Dolgopolov reached the semi-finals in Buenos Aires

The first racket of Ukraine Oleksandr Dolgopolov successfully acts on Argentine soil.

Eminent consistently beating Janko Tipsarevic and Pablo Cuevas, Alexandr Dolgopolov in the quarter-final stage faced the Austrian Gerald Melzer, who is in Buenos Aires trying to get back in the top 100 of the ATP ranking.

The first set was challenging for Dolgopolov. Despite the great performance on the first serve (91 percent winning goals), Alexander in the seventh game allowed the opponent to make a break. Meltzer in the next game answered in the same coin – Dolgopolov, having a back break, took the initiative and forced the opponent to play another game on his serve.

In the course of the second batch Dolgopolov was leading 4:1 and was on the verge of another break. Meltzer played a double break-point, then not without the help of the opponent did a back break and backed up his success on receiving another game on his serve. Fortunately, the last word still remained with the Ukrainian – in the tenth game Alexander earned triple match-point and the first attempt made a quarterfinal match.

Alexander Dolgopolov for the first time since February of 2016 made it to the semifinals of ATP tournament. The next rival will be 25-ranked Pablo Carreno Busta, whom he is still on the official level do not overlap.
