Eminent consistently beating Janko Tipsarevic and Pablo Cuevas, Alexandr Dolgopolov in the quarter-final stage faced the Austrian Gerald Melzer, who is in Buenos Aires trying to get back in the top 100 of the ATP ranking.
The first set was challenging for Dolgopolov. Despite the great performance on the first serve (91 percent winning goals), Alexander in the seventh game allowed the opponent to make a break.
