The third racket of Ukraine Ekaterina Bondarenko failed to qualify to the quarter-finals of a clay tournament in Morocco.
After a confident victory over Silvia Soler-Spinoza Bondarenko tennis player was waiting for another class – in the second round Catherine met with the 35-th racket of the world Lauren Davis, sown in the tournament at the seventh number.
Alas, full of struggle on the court failed. The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes and ended in a crushing victory tennis player from the United States.
In the first set Bondarenko has never defended his serve, and one back break was for Catherine to be a weak compensation.
During the second game the Ukrainian player lost 0:4, but managed to get back in the game. Who knows what would went match if Bondarenko with the score 2:4 has implemented a break-point. Davis came out of a difficult situation and confidently brought the match to the bitter end.
Victory Catherine Bondarenko in Rabat was the only success of Ukrainians in tournaments ATP and WTA. Sergiy Stakhovsky didn’t play well in Munich, and Lesya Tsurenko did not stay at the tournament in Prague.
