Bob Dylan and his work.
The famous phrase “a talented person is talented in everything” can not be attributed to a famous artist Bob Dylan. Besides writing music and singing he realized himself as a poet and actor. A year ago, this man handed one of the most prestigious awards in the world – the Nobel prize. However, this is not the only achievement of the artist. Another facet of his talent is painting.
Bob Dylan picked up a brush and paint in the 1960-ies, when due to a motorcycle accident, he had to stop touring and stay some time at home. However, his work was presented to the wider public only after 30 years. In 1994 he released the album-a collection of artist sketches “Drawn Blank”.
Personal exhibition of creativity of Bob Dylan, took place only in 2007. Works were exhibited in Chemnitz Art Gallery (Museum of fine arts Chemnitz, Germany). After the show was a success, the artist more carefully reviewed its archives and created a new work.
Experts believe that writing style of the singer were influenced by the fauves, post-Impressionists, neoekspressionistov. Bob Dylan is not afraid to use bright colors to make bold strokes. He uses watercolor, gouache, acrylic, pastel, oil paint.
Art historian John Elderfield (John Elderfield) comments from the works of Dylan: “Man and his imagination are difficult to separate time and space, verbal and visual, he used show and tell”.
When the exhibition of the works of Bob Dylan began to be regular, some tried to catch the artist of plagiarism, they say, too much of his paintings similar to pictures of famous photographers and artists.
