Tablet sales worldwide decreased by 20%

The market leader remains Apple.

In the last quarter tablet sales worldwide decreased by 20%, and Apple up almost 18%.

According to preliminary data research firm International Data Corporation, in the fourth quarter of last year worldwide were shipped 52.9 million tablets.

“Typical tablets without a special keyboard continue to lose relevance in all regions and, as a consequence, we see that the decline in sales in the world. We see growth in some emerging markets, but the reasons for this are simplicity and low cost of the devices,” says Ryan Reith, Vice President program Quarterly Mobile.
