Assad’s troops reached Palmyra
Syrian government troops approached the suburbs of the ancient city of Palmyra, ready to push out militants of the terrorist organization ISIL.
Pro-government forces reached the suburbs of Palmyra during its efforts to oust ISIL militants from the ancient city.
Now the Syrian armed forces and their allies from the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah and Iranian advisers are not far from the Western gate of the city, about 5 km from the well-known Roman ruins.
As you know, the Syrian government has lost control over the ancient city of Palmyra in December, less than a year after the city was liberated from the extremists.
