Studies have shown that ovarian cancer will save all kinds of contraception

However, there are restrictions

Specialists have long known that oral contraceptives (OC) decreases the risk of cancer ainekov, but recently researchers have found that a similar effect has any kind of contraception – not even a vasectomy.

Scientists conducted a survey on the use of contraception among 869 women who develop cancers of the ovaries, and 1779 women who are not suffering from this disease. Consideration was given to such types of contraception like, OK, tubal ligation, use of intrauterine devices, barrier means (diaphragms) and vasectomy in a partner.

Comparing the results, the researchers found that when using any form of contraception the risk of ovarian cancer decreased by 40-65%.

“No wonder that the risk of reduce OK, and even tubal ligation is shown in other studies, says the study’s author, Dr. Roberta Ness from the School of public health at the University of Texas. – But what is the intrauterine device, barrier method, and especially the vasectomy?!..”.

“Possible, the impact of semen on fabric women increases inflammation, which over time increases the risk of ovarian cancer – written by Dr. Ness and her colleagues in the journal “Annals of epidemiology” (Annals of Epidemiology). – In turn OK reduce the number of ovulations, and every ovulation is also associated with inflammation.”

A limitation of the study could be the fact that it was based on the memories of participants, and memories can be inaccurate. However, according to Dr. Ness, such things as contraception, most women remember very clearly.
