Scientists using the Hubble space telescope got a picture of the galaxy NGC 4536, which is experiencing a burst of star formation.
As noted on the website of the telescope, the galaxy is at a distance of 50 million light years from Earth in the constellation Virgo.
The burst of star formation may be the result of several processes, which resulted in the formation of large amounts of gas. In particular, the galaxy can draw the necessary gas from his neighbor who came at a very close distance to her. Or it can occur any other event that has resulted in the concentration of a large amount of gas in a relatively small region.
As the researchers note, the stars that have formed in these conditions, as a rule, die at quite a young age, quickly burning the gas reserves contained in them.
