Captain “Shakhtar” Darijo Srna in connection with the doping scandal can permanently disappear from the football radar.
Last week, Shakhtar officially confirmed that the Srna in March 2017 during the extra competitive period passed a positive doping test. Croatian defender about their problems with doping were notified on September 18.
Coordinator of doping control of the football Federation of Ukraine Maxim Becca reported that Srna has until September 28 to explain how the banned substance got into his system. Friday, 29 November, Shakhtar captain will be suspended from participation in all sports competitions on the territory of Ukraine.
“September 18 Dario received the notification, and in accordance with the regulations and national anti-doping rules, he has 10 days to provide explanation as to how this substance in his body. If he does not provide evidence or admits that he remembers how it happened, automatically 29 Sep Srna will be suspended from matches in Ukraine.
If it is proved that the player had no intention to use this drug to gain an advantage over other players, in this case, there may be a minimum punishment of a year or two-year disqualification,” said Becca in the comments for the program “Profootball” on TV channel “2+2”.
Darijo Srna after the official confirmation of its problems with doping said knowingly taken banned drugs, and his career is any solution is not complete.
