Writer George R. R. Martin, of course, became world famous for his fantasy epic “Game of thrones” (or rather, “a Song of ice and fire”, based on which was created the TV series “Game of thrones”). However, he wrote before. And he wrote very good, including science fiction and horror.
And some of them written previously portrayed. For example, in 1987, the screens out the film “Night flight” (Nightflyers). The story was published in 1980, reprinted in expanded version in 1981, won several awards. On Russian was translated several times and published under the title “Flying through the night”, “Flying in the night,” “Piercing the darkness”.
The movie was not particularly popular, although the plot intrigued Martin:
A group of researchers leases the cool starship for a scientific space mission. However, they do not know that the onboard computer of a spaceship occupied the spirit of the deceased mother of his captain.

Eight scientists on Board the spaceship-obsessed – I just agree. The more interesting that the cable channel SyFy intends to create on the basis of the same work as a TV series.
In General, SyFy in September, marks the 25th anniversary, so “Night flight” for them – a large part of the planned upgrade programme for the anniversary.
