Work Sherstennikova is a portrait of the era, consisting of thousands of individuals, landscapes, and just frozen in the frame of historical events.
Lev Sherstennikov was born in 1938 in Ufa. Photography was carried away in elementary school. He studied at the Leningrad Institute of cinema engineers, received the diploma of the engineer, but the specialty has not worked a single day. Already as a student he believed that “to be there without a camera is so pointless that it is better not to attend at all.”
His first pictures Leo Tolstoy published in “Soviet photo”, later filmed for “News” then “Literary newspaper” and other publications, and in 1963 began working at the magazine “Ogonek”, cooperation with which lasted more than half a century.
