Sony Xperia X leaves the scene

Sony might cut its lineup of smartphones. Came insider information about the imminent cessation of development and production of mobile phones in the Xperia series, X, and almost immediately she received an official confirmation.

The line of Sony Xperia X has always been the transition from middle class to premium, and Sony decided to abandon half-measures ostensibly for the “purity” of the model range, but all this is nonsense, because the true cause of the rejection of these phones lies in the financial report of the company for the first quarter. On the Sony Xperia X is simply not needed — even in Japan, they were about 15% below the planned amount, and the rest of the world in this series accounted for only 31% of all smartphones sold by Sony, although they are one of available (the Russian market does not count).

The rejection of the Xperia X does not mean that Sony has decided not to leave the smartphone market — it will continue to release a budget model, the middling and top-end flagships, only such a step can be regarded as the alarm bell: with sales of the Sony device everything is already not as smooth as it could be, since she takes the example of the loser is HTC, which jacks up the prices on their devices just because of the brand, not even trying to give them any interesting features.
