Sony introduced a new sensor for smartphones

Sensor for smartphone cameras shoots a thousand frames per second.

Sony introduced a new sensor for cameras smartphones. It has a 21 MP sensor with a resolution of 5520 x 3840 pixels.

3-layer CMOS model has the ability to shoot 1080p video at an incredible speed of 1000 frames per second.

The company claims that this technology is applied for the first time in the industry. The sensor is able to “slow down” video about 8 times without loss of quality. This means that users will be able to embed the Slo-Mo scenes in normal video.

In addition, using the new sensor photos with a resolution of 19.3 MP you can do with shutter speed 1/120 s, while most devices offer a shutter speed of 1/30. This effect is achieved due to the high bandwidth of DRAM.

Given that Apple and Google use Sony sensors in their cameras, there’s a good chance that in the next couple of years users will be able to shoot incredible video slow motion on the phone.
