Forum users claim that the smartphone part of the Pixel 2 XL came to the owners without any firmware.
Apparently, Google just forgot to set some of the instances of their “pure” operating system.
Notifications were published on the website Reddit, the forums of the site Ars Technica and blogs Twitter. Users showed the screens that says “cannot find a valid operating system. The device will not start”.
In this screen is a link that should go to solve this problem, but there is no answer to the problem. Therefore, the main options for affected users is to return the gadget.
Journalists Android Police note that Google representatives are already on the evening of 2 November said the fix for this problem. The company gave no details, but presumably it was a manufacturing defect that was corrected at the software level.
