Chromebooks are also laptops, but they were very unlucky with the operating system, and they, with good hardware, is useless Chrome OS from Google. Next year in sale the new chromebooks on the most modern in the world of mobile processor – Qualcomm 845, announced a couple of weeks ago.
At the moment, no major manufacturer of chromebooks announced the preparation of a new model based on the Snapdragon 845, but the CPU support is already built into Chrome OS, as it was found a mention in its source code. It is unclear how much will cost these mobile PC, but probably not very small, since the processor designed for high-end smartphones cost under $1000, as will be the case for the new S9 and S9+ from Samsung (price pre).
It is unlikely that the installation of modern CPU will make chromebooks more popular in mainstream segment of the market, since Chrome OS is objectively significantly less functional than Windows, even with 10S, besides the latter is also trained to work with Qualcomm 845, as well as a full Dozen. Therefore, it is not entirely clear for whom and for what will produce this kind of laptops, if their potential could not be realized.
