The company has developed the Purism Librem 5 smartphone, running on Linux, but funds to manufacture it in his pockets found and appealed for help to the public in the hope to collect 1.5 million dollars. The amount was collected in the shortest possible time, and now the smartphone, nothing prevents to go into production.
Purism Librem 5 is the smartphone for those who don’t want to be followed, as it has hardware switches communication modules, as well as camera and microphone. Works cell phone not on pure Linux, and in particular its distribution PureOS, in which there are a lot of features for a very robust protection from Big Brother and less Big Sisters.
The characteristics of this is quite a good phone: 3 GB RAM storage 32 GB with a microSD card slot, removable battery, USB-C, separate entry under headphones and a Full HD screen with a diagonal of 5 inches, and that is long gone in modern smartphones – removable battery yet unknown capacity. On sale Purism Librem 5 will be in June 2018, but only for those who sponsored its production, and all the others will be able to buy it in January 2019 at a price of $600. Of course, at the time of release the price tag will fall, because during the year the smartphone will have become obsolete.
