Smart watches in Russia much more expensive

The Russian authorities once again went towards the citizens of the country and still agreed to raise prices, because it was not so long ago. This time it was decided to change the price tags on smart watches: we published new amendments to one of the, no doubt, fair laws, implying the inclusion of so-called “author fee” in cost of all smartwatches sold in Russia.

Amendments to the law have already been considered and adopted, will take effect in six months, analysts yet do not presume to guess how much it will increase the cost of the new smart watch sold in Russia and the new prices can be higher than the current for a few thousand roubles depending on model. The collection of taxes on a smart watch will do CPR, but not those in cassocks and crosses, and Russian Union of rights holders, which is headed, believe it or not, the greatest Director of all times and peoples – Nikita Mikhalkov.

The tax rate will be 1% of their value, but retailers will not miss their benefits and raise prices is clearly not on the 1%. The conclusion is that you need to buy equipment abroad, and after increase of duties on such parcels, which is also not far off, you need to start using services like “feel content” (not advertising). In this case, the purchase tax levied will not, and this is a great and very beneficial loophole for those who do not want to feed the local distribution network at his own expense.
