The team representatives of Skype have reported large-scale redesign of its app.
The new design is positioned as “a new generation Skype”, it will focus on the messenger and is somewhat reminiscent of competitors (Snapchat or Slack).
Skype interface for messenger will have three sections: Chat, Find and Capture.
In section you will Find the opportunity not only to search for contacts or search the text messages, but also information, to communicate with bots (list of bots available in this section, I promised to expand later). The Find option allows to embed the content on third party platforms as it is done in YouTube or Giphy.
Chat is familiar to users of the chat interface, which will now have the option to add in text or voice chat, Emoji-reaction, pictures, etc.
Capture is a novelty in the style of Snapchat, which allows you to instantly take a photo or video.
Also, added new feature Highlights, which will allow you to post a series of photos or videos that can be shared with friends.
How it looks – can be assessed in a series of promo videos of the new design.
The upgrade program began on 1 June this year. It will affect both mobile version and desktop application.
The first update will arrive on Android in the coming weeks promise to release a version for the iPhone. Versions for Windows and Mac will be released within a few months.
