Unexpectedly, a sequel to the film about alien invasion “skyline 2” (Beyond the Skyline) will reach the Russian hire. Distributor Megogo reserved the date of the premiere on 16 November 2017 (besides, what about the world premiere haven’t heard), and presented new footage, photos from filming, official synopsis and a rather curious story Director Liam O’donnell about the concept of the film.
And, by the way, the budget stated is quite decent – as much as twenty million dollars.
Synopsis:
The worst day in the life of detective Mark Corley began with a Deposit for their son Trent and continued the horrifying spectacle of the invasion of alien ships, taking thousands of people directly from the streets, subways and skyscrapers Windows. In a desperate attempt to find the kidnapped son mark gets on the alien ship, where he meets heroes of the first film — Elaine and mutilated aliens Jarod.
Attempt to destroy the ship from the inside leads to frustration and drop it directly into the center of Shanghai, where the heroes save the men of the Chinese resistance. Together, they have to repel the attack of angry aliens and forever to return the planet to those to whom it rightfully belongs — to the earthlings.

“Skyline 2”, I hope will be interesting and those who saw the first part, and those who didn’t see it. And despite the fact that they are not familiar with the story, they will understand what it’s about. In any case, in the sequel there is a line connecting both parts. Even before we started shooting the second part, I fixated on the idea that the sequel should start with new characters who also live the night of the invasion. So again we could take in the story, but to see it with different eyes.
For me it was a matter of principle. When we were talking about the creation of this film, some thought that we should not make references to the first part, creating his own film, completely independent from the first. But I still think it’s important to honor the fans of “Skyline”. Moreover, the story of the sequel, we began to think about back then, on stage filming the first part. The film did well in international theaters, particularly in Russia and China. Every couple of months after the start of the rental we started to discuss the script and thought it was time for work. We then very quickly and have successfully passed all the stages of filmmaking: from script to release, and we’ve got a lot of unrealized ideas that it was interesting to screw. Initially, the climax on the ship should have been our mysterious twilight zone where would be a hint of a sequel – to have hope that someone is alive. But, more importantly, we wanted to show the ship. I love it. And everyone who we showed talked about the ship, wanted to know about him more and more, so we expanded the world of the ship, complicating and increasing the visual effects. When we shot the second part, I decided that the ship would be the main part of the film, and we will do a great deal of time to explore all of this alien house of horrors. In addition, the first film was more of a Thriller, and I’m a fan of action, so I wanted to add in the sequel, more travels, adventures and fights.
“Skyline 2” we get, including in Asia. I wanted to take something off in order to change what is called the picture. But while we discussed the second part, it was just a lot of action with battles in cities, on the ocean, and so forth, that I just had to ask ourselves, what else was not? How can we do something else?
My wife is from Laos. We often listened to the stories of her family, looked at pictures, and I was humbled by the beauty of the place. I found it interesting to make a parallel in our history with the Vietnam war. Then the farmers to take cover from flying on them bombs, digging tunnels and hiding underground. I thought it would be an interesting move. The people there are even much more prepared for alien invasion, their genetic memory is still alive. I think it was an interesting find. And, of course, jungles, cities, attractions is the incredible “scenery” for the film.
Frank Grillo was very excited when we started negotiations on a “skyline 2”, although he had to undergo a very serious preparation. We need to fight it with enviable regularity in the story. However, Frank, who for 20 years engaged in Boxing, always in great shape. The most fun was the first few days of shooting – they were in constant friendly sparring between Frank and IKO Unisom. They both play two alpha males, and it seems, in life is “nice to meet you” just started a friendly sparring. In the story they also had a lot of fight. Once the crew asked me, and why would they fight each other because they’re both heroes that fight aliens. I gave the simplest explanation possible – I just don’t want to watch a movie, where these guys don’t fight each other. Alpha males in action, must fight before you find common ground and become friends. This is the law of the genre!
