Engineers from the Singapore University of technology and design built hybrid drone of the original design, which is able to use the rotor blades as wings.
Developers from Singapore University of technology and design, decided to design its drone to abandon the traditional fixed-wings. The drone called THOR (Transformable HOvering Rotorcraft) is monocopter, whose rotor blades have additional small propellers that add aircraft maneuverability.
By operator THOR can also switch to airplane mode – main rotor blade with servos back and fixed in the same plane, turning in the wing. Small propellers at the same time become the main propellers and monocopter in the air turns into a drone-type aircraft.
