Shootout in Mexico: 5 dead

Gunmen attacked a police patrol on one of the highways in the state of Jalisco.

In the Mexican state of Jalisco in a shootout between criminals and police killed five people. The incident occurred near the town of Jocotepec, said the Prosecutor General of the state.

According to authorities, gunmen attacked a police patrol on one of the highway near the town. According to preliminary data, all the dead were among the attackers. Several bandits managed to escape, their search is conducted.

At the scene, police seized a number of vehicles and weapons.

Jalisco is the home of one of the largest criminal groups that the Mexican cartel “Jalisco New generation”. In 2015, the cartel members attacked the city of Guadalajara and shot down a military helicopter.
