American tennis player Serena Williams leaves the first line of a rating of Female tennis Association.
Williams Junior because of health problems refused to participate in the first season of the tournament series WTA Premier Indian wells.
“Because of my knee I couldn’t train, and very upset that I will not be able to play in these tournaments. I will continue to move forward with a positive attitude. Looking forward to the moment when we will be able to return to court”, – quotes the words of Serena, “ESPN”.
Since last year, the American reached the final, the refusal would cost her the loss of 650 rating points, meaning that after the tournament in Indian wells leadership in the WTA rankings will go to the German Angelique Kerber, who will become the first racket of the world regardless of their performances at the upcoming tournament.
Kerber for the first time led the world classification in September last year after winning the US Open. The status of the first racket of the world, Angelique stayed until the end of January this year.
Note that the number of weeks spent at the top of the WTA rankings, Kerber will overtake Maria Sharapova, who was in the status of the first racket of the world 21 weeks.
