Selection for the 2018 world Cup: Japan and South Korea lose points

In Asia completed the eighth round of qualifying for the 2018 world Cup.

Group A:

Iran after a home win over Uzbekistan ahead of schedule guaranteed to itself the permit on the world championship. The most important victory scored Australia – “Socceroos” in the home match beat Saudi Arabia and returned to the race for first two places. Japan couldn’t hold a victory over Iraq and created additional problems.

Thailand — United Arab Emirates 1:1
Goals: Tosaka, 69 — Ali Ahmed Mabhouh, 90+3

Australia – Saudi Arabia 3:2
Goals: Juric, 7, 36, Rogic, 64 Al-Dosari, 23, Al-Sahlawi, 45

Standings: Saudi Arabia, Japan – 16, Australia – 13, United Arab Emirates – 9, Iraq – 4, Thailand – 1.
