SEGA is going to revive a big franchise of the past

SEGA is going to pour more money into promising game and enhance their progress.

SEGA has prepared a financial report and showed the investors presentation “the Road to 2020”, which painted their plans for the future. Among them is the resurrection of some major franchises.

The publisher intends to more carefully pick up the game and shift the focus from “secondary hits” to “big hits”. To achieve this, SEGA is going to pour more money into promising game and enhance their progress.

In the market of retail projects (such as Total War: Warhammer, Yakuza 6 or Persona 5) SEGA will expand the existing franchise, will acquire a new for the American and European PC gamers, try to create fresh and breathe life into great old IP. So if you have a favorite series, which SEGA in recent years have forgotten, it is likely that soon you will hear about it again!

SEGA has focused on names. Previously, the publisher released the game in the first place by the specifics of the platforms, and now wants to put at the forefront of the franchise. Perhaps this means that together with conditional Bayonetta 3 for PC and consoles gamers will get some posotives for mobile devices.

Also, SEGA wants to come to simultaneous releases around the world. Now, recall, the Japanese branch of the company lives its life, produces Yakuza and Persona on the territory of their country, and to the English-speaking part of the world these games are getting later months. It is hoped that by 2020 the situation will be corrected.

And now to sales. SEGA is pleased with the success of Total War: Warhammer and Persona 5 in fiscal 2017 (ended March 31 this year). In fiscal 2018, SEGA is going to earn a Western version of Persona 5, as well as hopes for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, Endless Space 2 and Total War: Warhammer II.
