Seat will begin in 2020 to sell a new crossover-coupe.
This statement in the interview was made by the Vice-President for research and development of the company Seat, Matthias Rabe.
In 2015, during the Geneva motor show hosted the presentation of the Seat 20V20 concept. At its base, the Spanish company is developing a crossover with the design elements of a coupe. Such models are referred to as crossover-coupe, and they have recently become very popular.
The servant does not exclude the possibility that this new model will be sold under a sub-brand Cupra. Under this sub-brand Seat company plans to produce sports versions of their standard models, and also brand new premium models. The first such car should appear on sale in 2018 goal.
The new Spanish crossover coupe will probably be powered by a rechargeable hybrid powertrain Plug-in hybrid (PHEV). Why do we think so? Because Seat is preparing behind the Volkswagen Group to which it belongs, go to electric technology.
The first electric car Seat will be available in 2019. It will build on the base of the Seat Mii. In 2020 needs to begin the sales of another electric car of this Spanish brand. It will create a platform MEB designed specifically for electric vehicles.
Earlier, the head Seat Luca De MEO said that he sees big potential for the segment of sports SUVs. His role model in this segment is the Porsche Macan. Does this mean that the new Spanish crossover coupe will be a competitor to the Macan?
