Readers of the newspaper The Daily Telegraph named word of the year a typo of U.S. President Donald trump on Twitter, which is recognized by the neologism.
The word “covfefe” voted, 27 per cent of readers of the journal.

Probably trump was referring to the word coverage. In this case, the phrase was unfinished, but well-written, and would mean “Despite the negative reaction of the press…”.
Soon the record was deleted, but the neologism has yet to be remembered by Internet users, who speculated on what it means. Later trump himself invited readers to guess the meaning of the word.
Also note that in second place in the ranking of The Daily Telegraph have settled the word Maybot — nicknamed the Prime Minister of great Britain Theresa may, invented in the end of 2016, a columnist for The Guardian John Grace (he compared Mei with a computer program). The third vote was bitcoin.
