Scotland voted against start Brexit

The Scottish Parliament on Tuesday voted against starting the British exit from the EU, confirming that Scotland remains Pro-European region.

The vote would have no consequences because the Supreme court recently ruled that the involvement of the 50th article of the Lisbon Treaty to the British government only needs the approval of the British Parliament of the bill, and the consent of regional parliaments is not required.

However, the first Minister of Scotland (the region where majority in a referendum on June 23 voted against Brexit) Nicola Sturgeon, dissatisfied with the decision of the Supreme court, once said that the Scottish Parliament is still considering the launch of Brexit.

The first of February a bill to start Brexit second reading was approved by the house of Commons of the British Parliament. The final vote of the lower house of Parliament will be the eighth of February, after which the bill will be considered by the house of lords, which will make its decision after the parliamentary recess.
