The model answered the question about the dilution. It turned out that 40-degree tape guaiacol is distributed evenly throughout the volume of whiskey. That is, on the surface is not too much of this substance. The smell is, but it is not too intense. However, if you add to the solution a little more water, the picture changes: guaiacol floats to the surface and, accordingly, the tape gives his lover more of the smell.

Interesting point: the effect is manifested when the content of ethanol in whisky falls from 40 percent to 25 percent. In other words, to dilute you will not weak.
