Scientists from the Technion (Israel Institute of technology) estimated the fraction of stars that at the time of its existence, can capture at least one planet-the orphan (planet-wanderer). Preprint of the study is available in edition “Tapes.ru”.
Computer simulations showed that in the milky Way every hundredth of a star throughout its existence, capture at least one planet-wanderer.
The number of wandering planets in the milky Way, scientists believe, is comparable to the number of stars in it. The main sign that the heavenly body was captured by the star, is a large displacement of the axis of rotation first axis second.
The authors believe that approximately 90 percent of the planets-Wanderers, captured luminous objects, leaving the appropriate system and again be thrown into interstellar space.
