For the year, scientists intend to commit the thousands of stone rains on the satellite of our planet.
Observing the Earth’s Moon in March and April, ESA astronomers have noticed that there are constantly “stone rain.”
Over 11 hours of research, the researchers observed 4 drops of the small size of the asteroids (like the Chelyabinsk meteorite, with a diameter of about ten meters), and determined their craters and learned of the local temperature at the moment of appearance of these craters.
This so-called constant asteroid bombardment of the moon, say astronomers from the European space Agency, studied the moon’s surface with a telescope in Greece, with plenty of speed cameras. The study was conducted in the framework of the project NELIOTA. For the year, scientists intend to commit the thousands of stone rains on the satellite of our planet.
