A group of Israeli researchers from tel Aviv University found at the bottom of the Dead sea traces of an ancient ecological disaster, Dating back to 11 thousand years ago.
As stated in the press release published on the website Phys.org the reason for this phenomenon is human activity.
Drilled in the sea bottom wells to a depth of 450 metres, scientists have found cores that allowed us to form an idea about the passage of the local processes over the past 220 million years.
In particular, in samples, age about 11 thousand years, the researchers found traces of the speed of erosion, the cause of which, according to experts, was the work of man. At about this period there lived primitive people engaged in hunting fishing, gathering and agriculture.
Vipasa on these lands, the cattle and chopping down trees, local residents provoked an intense leaching of soil and sludge buildup in the Dead sea. Scientists intend to continue studying specimens and using them to find out more information about the phenomena occurring here.
