To such conclusions the authors came through genetic analysis of numerous artifacts that, according to eyewitnesses, belonged to the Yeti. These include, in particular, include samples of bone, teeth, skin, hair, and feces.
Examination showed that these items collected in different parts of the world and kept in museums and private collections, owned by 23 different bears. The habitats of these animals coincide with the areas where the witnesses said about seeing the Yeti.
