Life expectancy increases if improved environmental profile in the region of residence
The world health organization and University of Aarhus estimate how air pollution affects life expectancy.
The increase in the mass of pollutants in the air even at ten micrograms per cubic meter can reduce the duration of human life on 9-11.
The researchers extrapolated from data of the European Bureau of statistics Eurostat over the last 30-40 years and the same statistics but in the United States. The information collected touched more than 100,000 people. It was determined that the average residence in polluted region takes people ten years of life.
But this figure is reduced as soon as improved environmental profile in the region of residence. Among the main air pollutants scientists have called the particles of ash, sulphur and dvuokisi suspension of nutrients from emissions of vehicles and industrial enterprises.
