In the new study, scientists have modeled the Martian rocks in order to understand what chemical elements entering into their structure, could interact with water. It turned out that the minerals on the red planet able to contain 25% more water than on Earth. Researchers believe that the rocks acted like a sponge, contributing to drying the surface of the planet.
